Treat Yourself to a Spa Day at Home

Treat Yourself to a Spa Day at Home

Posted by AP Fragrance on 8th Mar 2018

Instead of heading out to an expensive salon, save a bundle by creating your own Spa Day at home with these simple steps.

First things first…. Set the mood!

Aromatherapy and fragrances play an important roll in a spa’s overall ambiance. At AP Fragrance, we suggest trying any of these 4 SPA room fragrances to help create your home spa, aromatherapy experience.

Signature Spa:  (a calming scent )

Feel renewed and energized with this white tea fragrance. Fresh notes of dewy greens are enhanced with crisp citrus, white tea and clean musk. This fragrance is the signature of a fine hotel's tranquil spa scent. Pure serenity!

Sanctuary Spa:  (an awakening scent )

One of our uplifting SPA line fragrances, Sanctuary Spa is a light blend of eucalyptus and fresh mint. This fragrance will revive the tired soul.

Tranquility Spa:  (a relaxing scent )

Floral & Spicy! This fragrance from the Far East is a blend of peaceful & exotic notes. It can be described as a sweet floral blend of lilies, with undertones of musk and bamboo.

Luxe Spa(a clean scent )

Sun-dried cotton combined with green notes, white flowers and a hint of lemon. Fresh, Fresh, Fresh!

Now that you’ve chosen your spa fragrance, it’s time to put on your favorite calming music. We suggest "Weightless" by Marconi Unions. It’s relaxing because of its soothing 60-beats-per-minute tempo, random chimes, and low whooshing sounds. Now that you have the smells and sounds of the spa, put on your slippers, get out your fluffiest towels, and choose a treatment (or two, or three, or all five…) from the list below.

TREATMENT #1  Make Your Own Spa Water

Sipping on “spa water” is an easy way to enjoy spa amenities at home. Use your favorite berries and mint and place in a water pitcher. Cucumbers and citrus are refreshing too!

TREATMENT #2  Steam Treatment

To make your own Tea Steam, place tea bags in a bowl of hot water, use a towel to trap the steam, and allow the steam to clean out your pores. This treatment is great for acne-prone skin and leaves your face feeling clean and refreshed!

TREATMENT #3  Face Mask

Applying a face mask can be a favorite at-home spa treatment. This Yogurt & Honey Face Mask will leave your skin soft and moisturized.

Yogurt & Honey Mask

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon plain yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • Dash of ground cinnamon
  • Dash of ground nutmeg

Mix in cup or bowl (at this point you WILL be tempted to EAT it…it’s that good! You must resist…this is for your face!) and apply to face. It might tingle just a bit at first, that just tells you it’s working. Leave on for 7 to 10 minutes and wash off with warm water.

TREATMENT #4  Foot Soak

A foot soak is the perfect treatment if you don’t have much time to spare. You can even set up a foot bath at your desk or at a table while you work on something else! Just combine Listerine, vinegar & warm water. The sit back and say “Ahhhh”.

Listerine & Vinegar Foot Soak Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Listerine (or any antiseptic mouthwash)
  • 1 cup vinegar (we use white, but you could use apple cider vinegar if you want)
  • 2 cups warm water

TREATMENT #5 Take a Bath

Nothing is more relaxing than a good soak in the tub! Add a few drops of baby oil or bubble bath to your bath water! Close your eyes, sit and relax. Take a deep breath and soak in all that aromatherapy and have your troubles sail away!

Extend your spa experience by spraying your SPA room fragrance in your bedroom, then grab your favorite book and relax the rest of the day!  That's how we do it at AP Fragrance!
